Here at Ceres Imaging, our focus is always on solving problems for growers of different crops by providing them the best aerial imagery on the market.

Every crop is different, every region is different, and we pride ourselves on delivering images with notes, context, and real value–not just dumping low-value, low-cost pictures in farmers’ laps.

That’s why we are excited about a new funding round for Ceres Imaging that totalled $25 million, led by an investment from Insight Venture Partners. Here’s what our founder and CEO, Ashwin Madgavkar, had to say about the funding:

"Our imagery helps farmers cope with a changing world full of challenges such as climate variability, labor shortages, and depressed markets," said Madgavkar. "Like the farmers we serve, we know that agriculture is more than a business. Our growers care deeply about their land and about the food they grow. From grain farmers in the Midwest to California vineyards and almond orchards, these farmers are careful with resources, not just for their bottom line, but because they are stewards of the land."

Where will that money go? It will go into the best hardware for imaging, into new hiring of talent with agriculture and remote sensing expertise, and it will go to staffing the team that guarantees Ceres imagery is useful to growers.

That team is Customer Success.

The Customer Success team is one of several ways that Ceres Imaging helps farmers:

  • A Customer Success team that keeps all concerns top of mind
  • Ground truthing assistance in California and the Midwest by trained agronomists
  • New app with features including download tools, field boundaries, and more

Here’s the latest from George McFadden, head of customer success for Ceres Imaging, about how his team will help farmers as the company grows.

“This season has been exciting for Ceres Imaging on a number of fronts. For our customers, we’ve built and created a Customer Success team whose exclusive purpose is to make sure imagery solves real problems and our customers are happy,” McFadden said. “More agronomy experts on staff mean better images, a better app, and future features that help growers every step of the way.”

The Customer Success team aims to respond to requests the same day they’re received. Customers can reach out to support@ceresimaging.net.

The team has members in California and in the U.S. Midwest. Continued growth will include additions in Australia and throughout the Midwest.

“The Customer Success team is the voice of the customer in our company,” McFadden said. “We strive to take imagery from a pretty picture and turn it into action in the field, helping growers be successful.”
